forest was inspired while in Calfiornia, gazing up into the canopy of the giant Sequoia trees. I wanted to capture the scale and density of trees with the bright sunlight trying to reach the ground through the trees.
The print is a drypoint on perspex, intaglio printed in sepia and velvet black inks onto hand torn Somerset paper.

The print is sold as a hand torn sheet sized 57 cm x 38 cm. The actual image size is 41.5 cm x 19 cm. Prints are sold unframed, card-backed and cellophane wrapped. It’s recommended that this print is float mounted, as shown, so that the textural quality of the deckle edges of the paper is visible.
